Cohort VI transitioning to college

In August 2014, the College Support Team and 33 rising college freshman from Cohort VI participated in a College 101 Retreat at The Firs in Bellingham. The retreat is designed to give new college students skills and resources to be successful as they enter colleges and universities across the country. Workshops included Academics 101, Financial Aid, Diversity, Social Life and Career Chats, (one-on-one conversations with our College Internship Team).

New activities included a workshop on The Worth of a College Degree, Understanding Your Own Power and Privilege and a powerful campfire circle where students reflected on one thing they wanted to leave behind as they move forward with this new part of their educational and personal journey.
