One: Academic Enrichment (AEP)
Beginning in 6th grade,
the 14-month academic enrichment component is designed to prepare and place
scholars in college preparatory environments in public school advanced learning
programs or private schools. With
focus areas of Science, Math, Literature and History, scholars receive more
than 700 hours of additional instructional time and complete more than 300
hours of homework. This phase is often
referred to as the "academic boot camp" that ensures scholars not only survive,
but thrive in college preparatory settings.
At the end of the 14 month AEP phase, we celebrate with a Rites of Passage Ceremony.
This event marks a great achievement. We gather to honor hard work with a purpose. The first steps on a pathway to college. An important milestone filled with layers of meaning and the development of strong bonds and a deep sense of pride.
Our whole Rainier Scholars community comes together to celebrate their hard work and completion of this rigorous phase TOGETHER.
